New pattern coming…eventually. 😁 Just a little busy over here but I carved out some time over the weekend to stitch up this test block for my (release date TBD 😉) Daisy Crown quilt. I’m using the upcoming Blackbird’s Nest fabric by @lynnektq Kansas Troubles Quilters and…I think I’m in love! These aren’t my usual colors, but I have been smitten with this collection since it first arrived in our sample room at the office. Woo hoo! It’s Blockheads Wednesday! This week’s block is called Shimmer Star and it is by first-time Blockheads designer @aprilrosenthal. Have I mentioned that we have more than 30 designers contributing to Blockheads 5? 🤯🤩 For my traditional/scrappy fall version, I used a print from @lynnektq Kansas Troubles Fluttering Leaves, @betsy_chutchian Dinah’s Delight, and @modafabrics 3 Sisters Honeybloom, which did feel a little out of left field but I think I like it! Happy Blockheads Wednesday! This week’s block is All Stars by @lisabongean , and I am particularly fond of my fabric combo this week. The blue print is from @figtreeandco Denim & Daisies, the amber print is from @lynnektq Fluttering Leaves, and the gold print is from @betsy_chutchian Susanna’s Scraps. No Americana block just yet — I ran out of time this week, but I at least got as far as picking & cutting the fabrics for it. So maybe this weekend I’ll get around to it! Blockheads 5 - Part 2 kicked off today with Dream

Blockheads 5 - Part 2 kicked off today with Dream Big, a lovely block by Sherri @aquiltinglife. For this round, I’m making 6” blocks only in two color ways - a scrappy traditional/repro fall version and a scrappy sweet/cottage-y Americana version. After seeing all the different versions that everyone has been posting, I think I’m going to have to take a second run at these and try a different fabric placement. Speaking of Blockheads…as I recovered from Quilt

Speaking of Blockheads…as I recovered from Quilt Market on Tuesday, I went ahead and starched this yummy bundle of fall-inspired fabrics for the second phase of Blockheads 5, which will kick off in January 2024 and run through July. This is actually only half of the fabrics I starched — I also pulled about another 40 prints from my stash, all traditional/nostalgic prints in shades of chocolate, caramel, pine, bittersweet, cheddar, violet, charcoal, and cream. The plan is to make 6” blocks only and in two color ways — this traditional warm fall bundle and a sweet cottage patriotic bundle. Happy Blockheads Wednesday! And happy November! Wow, this year is flying by. I got back from Quilt Market on Monday evening and felt both exhausted and exhilarated — it is always a joy to be surrounded by the creative, talented, and inspiring people in the quilting and sewing industry! I came away with lots of ideas and goals. Now it’s time to turn those into actionable plans. Blockheads 5, Week 6…a little late. 🫣 Well, it’s been a little busy around here, what with quilt market happening later this week and all that! Block 6, Celeste, was designed by @minickandsimpson and I just love the traditional look of this one. I’m especially happy with my fabric choices on the smaller block. Today’s #blockheads5 block pattern is Super Scra

Today’s #blockheads5 block pattern is Super Scrappy Star by @corianderquilts. So even though I have the insider advantage working at Moda and getting early access to Blockheads blocks, I still only managed to get the 6” version of Block 3 (Stellar Elegance by Brigitte @zenchicmoda ) completed. It’s Blockheads Wednesday, and today’s block design, Galaxy Star, is by Joanna @figtreeandco. So naturally I had to include a few Figgy prints in my blocks! I love how my blocks turned out but I think the 6” is my favorite — the gingham! The green rosebud print! 😍 Joanna’s blog post today had a quilt mockup using just this block and I am so tempted…and I think I even like the idea of setting these blocks on point! 🤔 It’s been such a blast to see everyone’s blocks in our Facebook group. It’s Blockheads Wednesday, y’all! I am so excited to be sewing along for the first time! Today is kick-off day for Blockheads 5, and this week’s block is courtesy of Barb @meandmysisterdesigns. My husband is heading up to Purdue today to help our daughter move from her summer apartment to her dorm. She’ll be an RA this year in one of Purdue’s campus apartment complexes, so I asked her if she’d like me to make a little decorative something for her space. She asked for some coasters (easy enough) and fell in love with @debstrain ‘s upcoming Honey & Lavender collection. I mean, it’s honestly like it was made just for her, because she LOVES both honey and lavender. 🥰🍯🪻I found a little tutorial for these quick coasters and I think they turned out so cute!! All it took was a charm pack and a half-hexie template. Summer has gone by soooo fast…it feels like we were just getting her settled into her summer apartment and now her junior year of college and my son’s junior year of high school are just a week or so away. Thanks for all the birthday love yesterday, y’all! 🥰 I finished up this sunny pouch this week and I love it! 🌻Are you sewing along with @sewlux and @modafabrics Pouch Club series on the Moda blog? This month’s pattern is the Sunflower Pouch. I couldn’t help myself and I just HAD to use @katespain Sunflowers in my Heart for my version! There’s a cute sunflower panel in this collection and the size was perfect for the pieced sunflower center on my pouch. I whipped up a simple patchwork back for my pouch using a mini charm pack and picked one of the yummy paisley prints for the lining. I love how it turned out! 🌻❤️ Sunflowers in my Heart will be shipping to stores in September, which will be here before we know it. 🎂 46 🎂I don’t like to show my face here on my feed all that much but here I am. Ngl, I have not really enjoyed my 40s so far. The first half kinda sucked. But last year I was determined to pivot from “it is what it is” to “relentlessly moving forward,” and I made a series of decisions that prioritized my health and recalibrated my goals, because I knew that doing right by myself and bringing into focus the picture of what a career looks like for me would ultimately pay dividends for my family as well. So I am finally starting to feel like I’m moving in the right direction again, and I think the rest of my 40s will be trending up. ❤️ So grateful for my husband, kids, family, friends, and colleagues who have cheered me on along the way. #mywanderingpath #quiltersofinstagram
